Katren Supports Young Scientists at OpenBio
October 25 marked the end of the VI OpenBio-2019 International Forum, which took place in the science town Koltsovo. Katren JSC and Apteka.ru acted as general partners of the scientific conference within the framework of the Forum.
From October 22-25, 2019, the VI International Forum in the Field of Biotechnology and Biopharmaceuticals, the Platform for Open Communications OpenBio-2019, was held in Koltsovo (Novosibirsk Region). Traditionally, biologists and virologists from Russia and the CIS, representatives of scientific institutes, large manufacturers of pharmaceutical and medical products, as well as specialized biotechnological companies, participate in the Forum. This year it brought together over 900 delegates. According to the registration data, 9 participating countries were recorded; delegations of foreign businessmen from Belgium, France, Spain, Germany and Belarus attended the Forum.
Previously, Katren was an information sponsor of the event. Katren became a general partner for OpenBio-2019: a three-day scientific conference was held at a venue belonging to Katren JSC– the company’s new office.
Alexey Vasilyev, the Minister of the Science and Innovation Policy of the Novosibirsk Region, attended the opening of the conference. “The forum has gone through an impressive journey in the past six years, having now become one of the central events not just on a regional, but on a national scale,” he noted, adding: “The participation of representatives of foreign countries only emphasizes the significant interest in this area of research and in OpenBio-2019’s venue.”
Elena Traush, Deputy Marketing Director of Katren JSC, said: “Over the six years of its existence, the conference has become famous and popular both in Russia and abroad. This year there were so many guests that the building of the Koltsovo business incubator, where the conference had traditionally been held, was unable to accommodate all the participants. As the residents of the Koltsovo BioTechnopark and the event’s sponsors, we hosted OpenBio in Katren’s new conference hall.”
