Apteka.ru included on the list of free socially important resources
Users will be able to access the resource even if they have no credit on their account
As part of a trial scheme that started on April 1, users with cable Internet can access socially important resources free of charge.
The list of 391 web sites, including Apteka.ru, was drawn up on the basis of a study of public preferences, and includes the most popular web sites in Russia.
The trial is being conducted by the Ministry of Communications. The aim of the scheme is to assess how much public demand there is for a “free-access Internet” and how much money Internet providers would lose as a result of such a scheme coming into effect, and to develop a functioning system to enable free internet access to a limited range of web sites.
Rostelecom, Mobile TeleSystems, VimpelCom-Communications (Beeline and other brands), Megafon and ER-Telecom Holding (Novotelecom and other brands) are all participating in the trial scheme.
The order stipulates that the offer of free access to Russian web sites applies only to home Internet. These special conditions are available to subscribers of the participants in the trial scheme, who can access the selected Internet resources either through the desktop versions of the web sites or through mobile apps.
In addition to Apteka.ru, users will be able to access a number of other resources until July 31, including Gosuslugi, stopcoronavirus.rf, the various services provided by Yandex and the Mail.ru Group, the VKontakte and Odnoklassniki social networks, the ICQ and TamTam messaging services, and, of course the web sites of the State Duma and Government.
