RNC Pharma: According to its results in the first three quarters of 2020, Ateka.ru was the absolute leader in Russia’s e-pharmacy segment
Apteka.ru’s share in the commercial pharmacy market increased to 3.5%, and its total sales in the e-pharmacy market amounted to more than 36 billion rubles.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the market saw a number of peaks in demand in 2020. There was an overall increase in on-line sales as a result of the lockdown measures. According to data published by RNC Pharma, in the first three quarters of 2020 the share of Apteka.ru service in the commercial pharmacy market increased to 3.5% (at the end of 2019 the same agency had assessed the service’s share in the commercial pharmacy market as 2.7%).
On-line sales / orders of pharmacy products (i.e. medicines and parapharmaceuticals) in Russia during Q1-Q3 2020 totaled 95.2 billion rubles (consumer prices including VAT), or 9.2% of the total market.
The combined sales of top 15 participants in the market during the period of the rating amounted to 74.8 billion rubles (consumer prices including VAT), or 78.6% of the e-pharmacy segment.

For the purpose of its analysis, RNC Pharma only included companies for which the sale of medicines is a core business. Excluded from the analysis were Ozon (which refused to provide the necessary information), as well as income from importers of original medicines from abroad, and information from services selling generic medicines which have not been registered in Russia.
